FUNERAL HELD: Francis Joseph Blotney

 DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. Joseph Gamache and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Armand Messier. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by Mr. Blotney’s daughter, Barbara Convard and son, Francis Blotney, Jr. The White Funeral Pall was draped over Mr. Blotney’s casket by his son, Francis Blotney Jr. and Brigitte Valbuena. The Crucifix was then placed by granddaughter, Catherine Cate. Readings from the Old and New Testament were proclaimed by granddaughter, Christine Convard and son-in-law, Phillip Roberge. The Offertory Gifts were presented by great grandchildren, Callan and Maelley Singer and Quinn and Rhiannon Cate. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Blotney family lot in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery with Father Nadeau reading the committal prayers. The bearers were, Brett Pelkey, Phillip Roberge, Ivan Johnson, Joshua Cate and Francis Bertrand. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Saint Albans Road home of Barbara Convard and Phillip Roberge.
