FUNERAL HELD: Richard "Dick" Cassavoy

DATELINE: Swanton / Essex Junction

Funeral Services were held Wednesday December 14, 2011, at 11 AM from the Kidder Memorial Home. Father Charles H. Ranges SSE, pastor of Holy Family/St. Lawrence Parish, Essex Junction officiated. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Cassavoy family lot in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, with Father Ranges reading the committal prayers. Full military honors were accorded the WWII Navy veteran by Sgt. Angelo Pasquale, Spc Cody Trombley and Spc Shayne Newton of the Vermont Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team. The American flag was folded and presented to Dick's wife, Theresa by Spc Trombley.

Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from IBM of Essex Junction, General Electric of South Burlington, Holy Family / St. Lawrence Parish of Essex Junction, Central Vermont Railroad, Swanton Fire Department Auxiliary and the Law Office of George E. Spear III, Esq.
