FUNERAL HELD: Sally Rachael (Nye) Danyow

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. Edward Daniel and Joseph Gamache served as Ministers of the Altar. Mrs. Helen Stimets and Dena St. Amour assisted as Eucharistic Ministers. Music was provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead. A large Guard of Honor that formed outside of the church included members of the American Legion, Post 88 of Sheldon Springs, Franklin Northwest Supervisory Union Central Office led by Superintendant of Schools, Dr. John McCarthy, Franklin County Early Childhood Program, Mary S. Babcock and Swanton Central Schools, Highgate and Sheldon School Districts, Missisquoi Valley Union High School, Sheldon Success By Six and Franklin Grand Isle Book Mobile. The White Funeral Pall was draped over Sally’s casket by her sons, Jeremy and Jimmy Danyow. Her husband Danny then placed the crucifix. The first reading from The Old Testament was proclaimed by family friend, Gary Sturgeon and the second reading from The New Testament by niece, Jennifer Ploof. Nieces, Vickie Nye, Carlie Nye, Julia Nye and Rebecca Menard presented The Offertory Gifts. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by family friend, Mark Sustic. Among the many other delegations in attendance were representatives from the, Sheldon, Highgate and Swanton Village and Town Offices, Highgate and Swanton Historical Societies, Sheldon Forest Committee, Highgate Recreation Committee, Bourdeau Brothers, Indian Education Programs of Franklin County, Northwestern Medical Center, Missisquoi Valley Union High School Class of 1978, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Highgate and Swanton Public Libraries, Dan Menard Concrete Construction, M&C Transport, Wood & Kidder, Inc., The Paquin Group, Savantage Solutions, Enosburgh Early Childhood Team, Green Mountain Forest Products, Harmony, Local Avon Representatives, Kevin Parah Taxidermy, Swanton Village Green Apartments, Highgate Volunteer Fire Department, Carmen Brook Farm, Chevalier Drilling, Energizer, O.C. McCuin & Sons, Marcel Loiselle Construction, Swanton Rexall, Shaggy’s Snack Bar, Rachel’s Styling Studio, Total Yard Care, Reflections Unlimited, Dexter Products, Sweetie Pie’s, Barlow Pre-School Staff , SACS Pre-School, Highgate United Methodist Church and the parish communities of Nativity/Saint Louis and Saint Anthony. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Danyow family lot in Saint Anthony Cemetery, Sheldon Springs with Father Nadeau assisted by Father Bernard J. Bechard, SSE reading the committal prayers. The bearers were nephews, Timothy Boudreau, Otis Danyow, Daniel Menard, Ben Nye and family friends Pat Sturgeon and Mark Sustic. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends in the Father Jean Paul Laplante Parish Center, Highgate Center hosted by Mrs. Raymonde Choiniere and the Saint Louis Ladies of Saint Anne.
