FUNERAL HELD:  Frederick Hubert Dumont

 DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

 

A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at 4 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home. Father Thomas D. Nadeau, pastor of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary / Saint Louis Parish officiated. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan.  The first reading from The Old Testament was proclaimed by granddaughter, Jessica Cota and the second reading from The New Testament by great granddaughter, Amanda Burke. Following The Prayers of the Faithful Amanda also shared a special poem. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Swanton Town and Village Offices, Cota’s Auto Parts and Service, Missisquoi Valley Rescue, Swanton Village Fire Department and Auxiliary, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Swanton Memorial United Methodist Church, Handy Toyota and Handy Chevrolet, H.G. Berger and Son, Inc, Drummac and the parish community of Nativity / Saint Louis. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Dumont family lot in Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, with Father Nadeau reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Fred’s grandsons, Mike Cota, Mike Burke, Jason Durenleau and Mark Bailey and nephews, Russell Dumont and Eric Ashline. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends in the Nativity Parish Center hosted by, Mrs. Joyce Bombardier and the Ladies of Saint Anne.
