FUNERAL HELD: Carter Leonide Gagne DATELINE: Swanton / Highgate
Center A Mass of the Angels was concelebrated
Tuesday March 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the
Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist.
Concelebrating was Father Jean Paul Laplante. The
Reverend Mr. Gabriel Gagne assisted as Deacon. Paul Laroche
and Cleo Yandow served as Ministers of the Altar.
Music was provided by soloist Jeanne Begnoche
accompanied by organist Michael Olmstead. Special Music during the funeral
home visitation was offered by flutist Shelby Meunier.
The White Funeral Pall was draped over Carter’s casket by his sisters
Adrienne and Ruth Gagne. The Crucifix was then placed by Adrienne. Special
Words of remembrance composed by Carter’s Dad Cyrille Gagne were shared by
his Godfather Paul Laroche. Readings from the Old
and New Testament were proclaimed by Aunt Diane Laroche
and Paul Laroche. Carter’s brothers and sisters
Kenneth Gagne, Pierre Gagne, Ozanna Gagne, Desiree
Rice and Chantelle Gagne presented The Offertory
Gifts. Large delegations were in attendance from, Northwest Counseling and
Support Services including the Board of Directors and DS Division, Vermont
Department of Economic Services, Highgate School
District including the School Board, Mary S. Babcock and Swanton Central
Schools, Missisquoi Valley Union High School,
Northwestern Medical Center, Fletcher Allen Health Care, University of
Vermont College of Medicine, Missisquoi Valley
Rescue, Franklin County Home Health Agency, and Mousetrap Pediatrics. The
Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Gagne family lot in Saint Louis
Roman Catholic Cemetery, Highgate Center with
Father Nadeau assisted by Deacon Gagne reading the committal prayers. The
bearers were, Ashton Lasnier, Adam Rice II, Hayden
Rice, Gage Teague, Micaela Gagne-Ballard and Ethan
Teague. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family
and friends at the Father Jean Paul Laplante Parish
Center hosted by Mrs. Raymonde Choiniere
and the Ladies of Saint Anne. Private on line condolences may be
