FUNERAL HELD: Betty B. Giroux

 DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

 

A Funeral Service was held Friday December 23, 2011, at 1 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home. Father Brian J. O'Donnell, pastor of The Church of the Immaculate Conception, (St. Mary's Parish), St. Albans officiated. Music was provided by soloist, John Schriendofer accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by granddaughters, Carrie Giroux Klienfelter, Hillary Giroux Lefebvre and Blyth Giroux. Marian Kidder also shared Words of Remembrance that were written by daughter-in-law, Kathy Foster Giroux. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from, Holiday House Residential Care Home, Wood & Kidder, Inc., The Allen Agency, Rene J. Fournier Farm Equipment, United States Postal Service, Swanton Village Fire Department and Auxiliary, Barrett Ford Sales and Service, Office of Attorney George Spear, Flowers By Debbie, Lake Champlain Housing Trust, Swanton Historical Society, Mary S. Babcock and Swanton Central Schools, Nativity / Saint Louis Parish Community and the Nativity Ladies of Saint Anne and Altar Society. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed for immediate family members only at the Giroux family lot in Riverside Cemetery with Father O'Donnell reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Betty's sons, Thomas, John and Patrick Giroux; grandsons, Brady Giroux and John Klienfelter and family friend, Lance Masterson. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Bonnie Fournier.
