FUNERAL HELD: Barbara Arlene Hanna

DATELINE: East Highgate, Vermont

A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 4 p.m. from The Highgate United Methodist Church. Lay Speaker and family friend Deb Grennon officiated. Also in attendance was The Reverend Jason McConnell pastor of the Franklin and East Franklin United Parishes. Music was provided by organist Tammy Cassidy Ruhl. Readings from Scripture were proclaimed by niece, Ann Marie Russell and Special Words of Remembrance shared by nephew, James Desorcie. Among the large delegations in attendance were representatives from the, Vermont House of Representatives, Highgate, Franklin and Sheldon Town Offices, Highgate and Franklin Schools Districts, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Franklin County Rehab Center, O.C. McCuin & Sons, Highgate Historical Society, Kings Cove, The Saint Albans Messenger, Carmen Brook Farm, Boucher Fertilizer, United States Postal Service, Highgate United Methodist Church and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary / Saint Louis Parish. Interment followed at the Hanna family lot in the East Highgate Cemetery with Mrs. Grennon reading the committal prayers. The bearers were grandsons, David Rheaume, Brian Hanna and Tim Ayer; nephews, James Desorcie, George Desorcie and Glen Russell.
