FUNERAL HELD: Charlene Ann (Tuttle) Martinez

 DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

 

A Funeral Service was held Friday September 2, 2011, at 11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home. The Reverend Anne Torrance Bachmann, pastor of the Memorial United Methodist Church officiated. Music was provided by soloist, Maurice Gauthier accompanied by organist, Carol Pellerin. A large guard of honor was formed by members of the American Legion, Green Mountain Post #1 of Saint Albans. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by Charlene’s sister, Sheila Stoll, cousin, Tammy Tuttle and Abenaki Chief April St. Francis-Merrill. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from, First Financial, Lily Transportation, Abenaki Self-Help Association, Title VII Indian Education Office, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Swanton Public Library, and Porter’s Bike Shop. Interment followed at the Tuttle family lot in Riverside Cemetery with The Reverend Mrs. Bachmann reading the committal prayers. The bearers were, Richard Stoll, Leon Kempton, Jr., Terry Kempton, Michael Tuttle, Richard Kempton, Roger Tuttle, Nathan Tuttle, William Tuttle and James Keller. Full Military Honors were accorded the deceased by members of the Vermont Army National Guard, Funeral Honors Team. The American Flag which draped the Vietnam veterans casket was folded by SSG Richard Bruce and presented to son, James Martinez and sister, Sheila Stoll by SSG Christopher B. Spear. Taps were sounded by SSG Monty Eller.
