FUNERAL HELD: Gertrude E. Menard

 DATELINE: Highgate Center, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. John Ferland and Paul Laroche served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by organist and soloist, Mary Jo Gillilan. The White Funeral Pall was draped over Mrs. Menard’s casket by Dwayne Feeley and Heather Moreau. The Crucifix was then placed by daughter-in-law, Linda Menard. Readings from The Old and New Testament were proclaimed by Katelynn Moreau and Ryan Brown. Kristy Lavalla and Tristan Menard presented The Offertory Gifts. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by Jeff Moreau. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from Holiday House and Department of Homeland Security. The Rite of Committal and Interment followed at the Menard family lot in Saint Louis Cemetery with Father Nadeau reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Matthew Brown, Dwayne Feeley, Jeff Moreau, Ryan Brown, Corey Brown, Jamie Lavalla and Mike Freeman. Following The Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends in the Father Jean Paul Laplante Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Raymonde Choiniere and the Ladies of Saint Anne.
