FUNERAL HELD: Jean Luc Poulin DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont The Liturgy of Christian Burial was
celebrated Monday December 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the
Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant
and homilist. Eugene LaBombard and Robert Renaudette served as Ministers of the Altar and Mrs.
Helen Stimets as Eucharistic Minister. Music was
provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by
organist, Michael Olmstead. The White Funeral Pall was draped over Jean's
casket by his six children, Suzanne Harvey-Safford, Claire Stimets, Louise Laroche, Robert
Poulin, John Poulin and
Allan Poulin. Cecile Laroche
then placed the crucifix. Special words of remembrance by Jean's son-in-law,
Warren Stimets.
The first reading from the Old Testament was proclaimed by Sister
Suzanne Poulin, CND, and the second reading from
the New Testament by Shelley Laroche. The Offertory
Gifts were presented by Jean's three daughters, Suzanne, Claire and Louise.
Among the many delegations in attendance were representatives from the
Swanton Village and Town Offices, Swanton Chamber of Commerce, Champlain
Country Club, Northwestern Medical Center including the Family Birth Center,
Department of Homeland Security including the U.S. Border and Customs Services. Handy Pontiac, Vermont Maple
Festival Trustees and Chair Members, Smuggler's Notch, The Boa Babes, Omega
Electric, Chevalier Drilling, M&C Transport, My-T-Fine Restaurant,
Swanton Village Fire Department and Auxiliary, Swanton Village Green
Apartments, Swanton Rexall, Sisters of Notre Dame,
Porter's Bike Shop, Mary S. Babcock and Swanton Central Schools, Swanton
Chiropractic, Warren Fournier Home Improvement Center, Northwest Supervisory
Union Office of the Superintendant of Schools, Wood & Kidder, Inc.,
Franklin County Home Health-Hospice Program, Vermont Precision Tools, Neil
Speer Construction, Laroche Auto repair and the
Nativity / St. Louis Parish Community. The Rite of Committal and Interment
followed at the Poulin family lot in Saint Mary's
Roman Catholic Cemetery with Father Nadeau reading the committal prayers. The
bearers all grandsons were, Duncan Harvey, Matthew Laroche,
VTANG SFC Michael Laroche, Jon Stimets,
Michael McAdoo and Patrick Laroche. Following the
Prayers of Committal a reception was held for family and friends at the
Nativity Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Theresa Begnoche
and the Ladies of St. Anne. During the Sunday afternoon visitation members of
the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, St. Albans Lodge #1566 conducted
their Ritualistic Service. Participating were, Acting Exalted Ruler Shaun Luneau, Esteemed Loyal Knight Brad Gooding, Lecturing
Knight Patrick Luneau, Loyal Knight Keith Palmer,
