FUNERAL HELD: Peggy Sawyer Vincelette

 DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, February 4, 2012, at `11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. Also in attendance was The Reverend Jason McConnell pastor of the Franklin and East Franklin United Methodist Parishes. Joseph Gamache and Eugene LaBombard served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead. Special Music was offered by grandchildren, Sara and Sam Sanders. The White Funeral Pall was draped over Peggy's casket by grandchildren, Thomas Gates, Bobbie Gates Billado, Katie Gates, Sara Sanders, Norman Gates and Maggee Gates. The Crucifix was then placed by her husband, Norman Vincelette. Special Words of Remembrance were shared by granddaughters, Maggee and Katie Gates reading "Mom's Prayer". The Old Testament Reading was proclaimed by brother-in-law, The Reverend Mr. Alan Vincelette and The New Testament Reading by daughter, Kathy Carswell. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Peggy's daughters, Kathy Carswell, Cindy Gates and Becky Vincelette-Gates.

 

Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the, Saint Albans Cooperative Creamery, Northwestern Medical Center, IBM, Swanton Town Offices, Missisquoi Valley Rescue, Mary S. Babcock and Swanton Central Schools, Franklin and East Franklin United Methodist Parishes and the parish community of Nativity / Saint Louis.

 

The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place in the Spring from the Vincelette family lot in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery. The Honorary Bearers were great grandchildren, David Carswell Jr. and Andrew Carswell. The Active bearers were grandsons, Thomas Gates , Chris Billado, Tom Sawyer Jr., Norman Gates Sam Sanders and nephew, Andrew Vincelette.
