FUNERAL HELD: Betty Lane Schmidt

DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday January 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Father Thomas D. Nadeau was the celebrant and homilist. Edward Daniel and Eugene LaBombard served as Ministers of the Altar. Music was provided by soloist, Jeanne Begnoche accompanied by organist, Michael Olmstead. The Crucifix was placed by Betty's daughter, Jennifer Bombardier. The first reading from the Old Testament was proclaimed by son, John Schmidt and the second reading from the New Testament by son, James Schmidt. The Offertory Gifts were presented by grandchildren, Jonelle, Joseph, Anthony and Connor Fazzolari. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the, Vermont Department of Corrections, Franklin Town Offices, Northwestern Medical Center, Missisquoi Valley Union High School including the school board, Franklin Volunteer Fire Department and First Response, The Clark Connection, Franklin Homestead and Carriage House, Franklin County Home Health Agency, Boucher Fertilizer, M&T Sand and Gravel, Swanton Chamber of Commerce and the parish community of Saint Mary's in Franklin. Immediately following the liturgy a reception was held for family and friends in the Nativity Parish Center hosted by Mrs. Joyce Bombardier and the Ladies of Saint Anne. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place later in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swanton.
