OBITUARY: Kenneth George Baldwin

DATELINE:  Swanton, Vermont

 

Mr. Kenneth George Baldwin, age 82 years, a resident on this area since 1956,  died early Thursday afternoon, April 24, 2008, at the Haven Health Care Center in Saint Albans Town.

 

Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on, April 15, 1926, he was the son of the late George and Annie (Pilling) Baldwin. He attended Massachusetts schools and on, November 8, 1947, was married to the former Ruth Stafford who predeceased him on October 25, 1999.  He was employed for many years and retired from the United States Border Protection Service.

 

Ken faithfully served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Robert Glidden Post 758, in Saint Albans. Over the years he had been active in Swanton’s Seventy-Six Lodge #14, F&A.M., was an honorary member of Masonic Lodge # 166 of Williamstown, New Jersey and a member of the Savard of Bunker Hill. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography, having photographed every covered bridge throughout the State of Vermont.

 

Ken leaves two daughters and their husbands, Pamela and James Petrini of Vineland, New Jersey and Priscilla and Gary Taylor of West Swanton; five grandchildren, Karl Taylor and his wife Heidi, Kristy Taylor and her fiancé Jason Benjamin, Andrea Petrini and Lea Petrini and fiancée Michael Stavoli; two great grandchildren, Dalton and Kassidy Benjamin; one niece and two nephews.

 

Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Baldwin in 1993 and most recently by a grandson, Kevin Kenneth Taylor on April 15, 2008.

 

At the request of the family Funeral Services and Interment will be private and at their convenience. In lieu of flowers it is suggested that gifts in Ken’s memory be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 1420-3400 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W, Montreal, Quebec Canda H3Z9Z9, Missisquoi Valley Rescue, P.O. Box 22, Swanton 05488 or to the, Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, Saint Albans 05478.
