OBITUARY: Corinne Claire Bohannon

DATELINE:  Alburgh, Vermont

 

Corinne Claire Bohannon, 87, a lifelong resident of Alburgh, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2011, at the Saint Albans Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Saint Albans, Vermont.

 

Corinne leaves a legacy of love. She served her family and local community in many ways and was an honored long time member of the Union Bible Church in Alburgh (former Union Congregational Church).

 

Corinne remembered a simpler time growing up on the family farm with her parents, the late Louis and Bertha Boutah, as well as three sisters, Marion, Eileen, and Evelyn, all whom preceded her in death. She married Wyman Roy Bohannon on June 15, 1946. They were married 47 years before Wyman's death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebekah (Batchelder) Sims.

 

Corinne will be fondly remembered by a son, Michael Bohannon of Alburgh, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Bohannon) Batchelder and Mark Batchelder of Alburgh; five granddaughters, Rachel Parrill, Stacey Soule, Kristy John, Kari Bohannon and Taylor Bohannon; three great-grandchildren and a special friend Jennie Hilliker.

 

A Funeral service will be held Saturday October 22, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Pastor John Kehoe will officiate. Interment will follow at the Bohannon family lot in Bush Cemetery, Alburgh. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.

 

In lieu of flowers gifts in Corinne's memory may be made to the Alburgh Public Library, 16 South Main Street, Alburgh 05440 or to the Saint Albans Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, 596 Sheldon Road, Saint Albans 05478.
