OBITUARY: Sally Rachael (Nye) Danyow

DATELINE:  Sheldon, Vermont

 

Sally Rachael Danyow, age 49 years, died late Thursday evening, May 13, 2010, in the Northwestern Medical Center with loving family at her side.

 

Born in St. Albans, VT on Aug. 12, 1960, she was the daughter of Charles and Louise (LeBlanc) Nye. She received her elementary education in Highgate schools graduating in 1978 from Missisquoi Valley Union High School. On July 26, 1980 she was married to Danny Danyow who survives her.

 

Since Oct. of 1992 Sally has worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Franklin County Early Childhood Programs. She was presently serving as Secretary for the Sheldon Forest Committee and Sheldon Success by Six and in earlier years also served as Secretary for the Highgate Historical Society.

 

Sally was a lifelong devoted parishioner of Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church and had served as both a parish Lector and 2nd Grade Religious Education Teacher.

 

In addition to her husband Dan of 30 years, Sally leaves her two sons, Jeremy Ray Danyow of St. Albans and Jimmy Robert Danyow of Swanton; her parents, Charles and Louise Nye of Highgate Center; mother-in-law, Margaret Hendrick and husband Bruce of Sheldon; her brothers, sisters and their spouses, Ronald Nye and Lise Coutts of Highgate, Deborah and Larry Bourdeau of Swanton, Douglas and Cindy Nye of Highgate, Catherine and Brian Danyow of Sheldon, James Nye of Georgia, Jane and Daniel Menard of Highgate and Robert and Susan Nye of Sheldon;brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Lorraine Danyow of Sheldon, Sandy Banks of Montgomery and Stan Hendrick of Enosburgh; 18 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews and many many friends.

 

It was Sally’s request that ‘sincerest thanks’ go out to Dr. Gamal Eltabbakh, Toni Duclos and Dr. Terri Nielson for their outstanding care.

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St. Swanton. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Danyow family lot in Saint Anthony Cemetery, Sheldon Springs. Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Sally’s Memory may be made to the Franklin / Grand Isle Bookmobile, 100 Robin Hood Drive, Suite 2, Swanton 05488.
