DATELINE:  Isle La Motte, Vermont

 

Andrew Christopher Francis, age 42 years, a longtime resident of Isle La Motte died unexpectedly Thursday evening December 1, 2011, in Fletcher Allen Health Care from natural causes.

 

Born in Burlington on October 20, 1969, he was the son of Gary and Audrey (Dickson) Francis. He graduated from Burlington High School with the Class of 1987 and later attended Champlain College. On July 10, 1993 he married Tammy Rand who survives him.

 

For most of his working life Andrew was involved in building construction. He worked full time for Roland Decarreau as well as an owner of Francis Construction and later ILM Construction. An avid outdoorsman he spent many hours hunting and fishing with his son Tanner. Andrew was an avid gardener. He also loved all animals especially his pets Abby, Bumble, Oliver and Riley, but most important in Andrews life were the yearly summer camping vacations with his family.  

 

In addition to his wife Tammy and his son Tanner of Isle La Motte, Andrew leaves his parents, Gary Francis and his wife Pat of Colchester and Audrey Bromley and her husband Chet of Isle La Motte; mother and father-in-law, Terry and Freda Rand of St. Albans; his brother, Gary Francis II and his wife Kristin and their children Adam and Ashley of Colchester; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann and John Burke and their children, Connor and Isabel of S. Burlington, Sue Rand and children, Morgan and Jordan of Gloucester, VA and Cindy and Bill Vantine and their daughter, Emmy of Jericho; three step-sisters, Cheryl Shifilliti, Kim Savard and Lisa Richardson as well as nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

 

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. from St. Amadeus Roman Catholic Church, 9 N. Main St. Alburgh Village. Father Dallas T. St. Peter will be the celebrant and homilist. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the liturgy in the Saint Amadeus Parish Center.

 

Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

 

Gifts in Andrew's memory may be made to an education fund that is being established for his son Tanner, in care of, Tammy Francis, 2158 Main St., Isle La Motte, VT 05463.
