DATELINE: Highgate Center,
Vermont Carter Leonide Gagne, age 8 years, the son of Cyrille L. and
Karen (Noorda) Gagne, died unexpectedly, Thursday
morning March 10, 2011, at his Tarte Road
residence. Born in
Saint Albans on May 12, 2002, Carter was attending the Highgate
Elementary School. He participated in the schools Bowling Buddies Program and
also attended Camp Rainbow. Carter liked going to school and being around the
other children. He enjoyed music, dancing and spinning, but most of all he
loved “Eating”. He will always be remembered as a very special young man
whose short life had a profound effect on people in many ways. He leaves
his parents, Cyrille and Karen Gagne of Highgate
Center; siblings, Kenneth, Pierre, Ozanna, Desiree,
Chantelle, Adrienne and Ruthie all in Franklin
County; paternal grandmother, Beatrice Gagne; maternal grandmother, Barbara Noorda and his biological grandparents, Bruce and Debbie Weatherby. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Micaela, Ashton, Ethan, Gage, Adam and Hayden; his Godfather,
Paul Laroche; many aunts, uncles and cousins from
Vermont and Massachusettes and numerous friends
from the Highgate School and the community. He was
predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Pierre Gagne; maternal grandfather,
Kenneth Noorda; brother-in-law, Adam Rice I and an
infant niece, Grace Teague. A Mass of
the Angels will be celebrated Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. from The
Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton.
Father Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite of
Committal and Interment will follow at the Gagne family lot in Saint Louis
Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lamkin Street, Highgate Center. Friends may call at The Kidder Memorial
Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Gifts in Carter’s
memory may be made to Camp Rainbow, in care of, Northwest Counseling and
Support Services, Inc., 107 Fisher Pond Road, Saint Albans 05478 or to the
