Village Mrs. Bertha Lillian Jacobs, age 80 years, died Saturday
afternoon November 5, 2011, in her New St. residence with loving family at
her side. Born in Franklin, Vermont on March 6, 1931, she was the
daughter of the late Justin and Lillian (Reynolds) Thompson. She attended
schools in Franklin and on August 18 1955, married Lynford
Jacobs who predeceased her on June 7, 1983. Bertha thoroughly enjoyed camping and spending time with her
family and friends and loved her canine companions Buddy and Ices. Bertha leaves three daughters, Sally Deuso
and James of Swanton, Lynn Robert and Rene of Coopersville, NY and Kristi
Jacobs and Allen of Swanton; three sons, Allen Jacobs and Karen of St.
Albans, Kenneth Jacobs of St. Albans and Lynford
Jacobs and partner Paul of W. Chazy; one sister,
Anna White of Enosburg; two brothers, William Thompson and Lorraine of Swanton
and Gordon Thompson and Betty of Enosburg; 17 grandchildren; 5 great
grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Bertha was predeceased by two
sisters, Eunice Hance, and Florence Hakey and a brother James and his wife Marion Thompson;
brother-in-law, Robert White and a sister-in-law, Rita Thompson. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday November 10, 2011, at
11 a.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Reverend
Anne Torrance Bachmann will officiate. Interment will follow at the Thompson
family lot in Maple Grove Cemetery, Franklin. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Bertha's memory may be made to the, Saint Albans
