OBITUARY: Francis Edward “Carp” Lampman
DATELINE: St. Albans
Francis Edward “Carp” Lampman, 74, a lifelong
resident of the Franklin County area, died Thursday evening, April 17, 2008 at
the Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington following a long period of failing
health.
He was born in St. Albans, December 6, 1933, the
son of Herman Dewey and Josephine May (Gardner) Lampman. He attended school in Swanton and was married
to the former Edna Anna Joyce Martin who predeceased him in August of 1992.
Prior to his retirement, Francis worked as a
self-employed trucker. He was also
associated with the Swanton Foundry, Swanton Packing Company and the Central
Vermont Railroad. Francis was an avid
hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1090 in St.
Albans.
Francis is survived by 4 sons, Francis L. Lampman
of St. Albans, Armand E. Lampman and his wife Sandra of Enosburgh, Allen P.
Lampman and his companion Stephanie Welch of Highgate and Michael J. Lampman
and his wife Tammie of Franklin; 5 daughters, Donna M. and her husband Kenneth
Young of Craftsbury Common, Laurie A. Lampman and her companion Steve Gaudette of Franklin,
Nancy Ann Lampman and her companion Paul Greenwood of Franklin, Brenda L. and
her husband Fred Armstrong of St. Albans and Lisa M. Lampman and her partner
Alice Martell of Sheldon; one brother, Herbie Lampman and his wife Brandi of
Highgate; three sisters, Elizabeth Lapan of Swanton, Virginia Young of
Fairfield and Marjorie West of New York State; 16 grandchildren, 8
great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Francis
was predeceased by two sons, Leonard who died as an infant and Ronnie in 1982
and two sisters and a brother, Gladys Lampman Hakey in 1993, Roberta Lampman West in 2003 and Joseph
Lampman Sr. also in 2003.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April
23, 2008 at 11 AM from the Kidder Memorial Home,
