DATELINE: Swanton, Vermont Mrs. Marion Paquette Lauzon,
age 89, a longtime resident of Pine St. in Swanton Village died Tuesday
morning, August 2, 2011, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. Born in Alburgh, VT on
July 30, 1922, Marion was the daughter of the late Stanley and Almira (Valley) Paquette. She attended Alburgh schools, graduating from Alburgh
High School with the Class of 1940. On October 4, 1948 she was married to
Paul Lauzon who predeceased her on May 27, 1988. Marion will be remembered as a very devoted and
faithful parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin
Mary. She was a longtime member and past president of the Ladies of St. Anne,
volunteered many years in the Religious Education Program, served weekly as a
Eucharistic Minister and daily as church Sacristan. She was also a member of
the Associates of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit. Marion leaves three daughters, Theresa Fedorchek and her husband Robert of Fairfield, CT, Anne Retzlaff and her husband John of Fargo, ND, and Brenda Lauzon of East Barre; two sons,
Michael Lauzon and his wife Theresa of Bridgeport,
CT, and George Lauzon and his wife Lynn of Springfield,
VT; a son-in-law, William Greenwood, of Georgia; a brother Philip Paquette of Milford, CT; four
sisters, Lorraine Soule of North Stratford, NH, Donalda
Paquette of Milford, CT, Gertrude Poquette of
Milford, CT, and Anita Robinson of Titusville, NJ; grandchildren, Heather Retzlaff and Rebecca, Andrew and Daniel Fedorchek and his wife Cathy; three great grandchildren, and
many nieces and nephews. Special people in Marion’s life include Tracie and
Ron Pilbin and their children, Brady and Brooke, with
whom she lived the last several months. Their care for Marion was
immeasurable. Besides her husband Paul, Marion was predeceased by
a daughter, Paula Greenwood, on September 7, 2010; two brothers, George
Paquette and Paul Paquette and his wife Kathryn; three sisters, Shirley
Paquette, Pauline Paquette and Sister Margaret Paquette, DHS, and a
sister-in-law, Lena Paquette. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Saturday, August 6, 2011, at 10 a.m.
at The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada St.
Swanton. Father Thomas D. Nadeau will be the celebrant and homilist. The Rite
of Committal and Interment will follow at the Lauzon
family lot in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at The
Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. Gifts in Marion’s memory may be made to the
