DATELINE: West Swanton, Vermont / Hawthorne, New
Jersey Stephen David Melladew,
age 53 years, a native of the Hawthorne, NJ area and more recently of West
Swanton, VT died early Sunday morning, November 27, 2011, in Fletcher Allen
Healthcare following a long illness. Born in Paterson, NJ on February 28, 1958, he was
the son of Clifton and Blanche (Eardley) Melladew. He graduated from Hawthorne High School and was
self employed for many years in construction as a master roofer. He enjoyed
fishing and excelled at Darts and while in high school played basketball and
football. He leaves his parents, Clifton and Blanche (Eardley) Melladew of West
Swanton, a sister, Deborah Pellegrini and husband
Alan of Hillsdale, NJ; two brothers, Clifton John and James Michael and wife
Beverly all of West Swanton and two nieces, Alison and Sara Pelligrini. Stephen was predeceased by a brother, Michael
Robert in 2008. At Stephen's request there will be no calling hours
and funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the
family. Gift's in Stephen's memory may be made to the
