DATELINE: Highgate Falls, Vermont

Faustine Raymond Rollo age 89 years, a lifelong Highgate resident died Sunday afternoon October 16, 2011, in the Northwestern Medical Center with loving family by her side.

Born in Highgate on March 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Emitt and Mabel (Toof) Raymond. She attended Highgate Schools and on November 11, 1939, married Foster H. Rollo who predeceased her on December 8, 1988.

Faustine was a lifelong devoted parishioner of Saint Louis Roman Catholic Church and belonged to the Ladies of Saint Anne. In earlier years she worked as a pastry chef for the Last Chance Restaurant and later for York Manufacturing and the Union Carbide Corporation.

Although Faustine's interests were extensive, her favorite hobbies included gardening and Bingo and she was a wonderful cook.  However, she will be remembered most for her love of her family.  She was passionate about making sure that everyone was taken care of, never stopping to think of herself until all other's needs had been met. Faustine demonstrated to everyone around her the true meaning of love.  Her immediate and extended family will truly miss the large family gatherings at holidays and reunions where she was the happiest.

Mom, Grandma and Great-grandma, we will truly miss the kind and nurturing guidance and love that you gave us each and every day.

Faustine leaves her four children, Larry Rollo and his wife Susan, Linda Reader and her husband Christopher, Douglas Rollo and his wife Linda and Mark Rollo and his wife Lisa all of Highgate; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.  She also is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Barbara Rollo, Dick(Ira) and Lorraine Rollo, George and Rita Rollo and Rita Hewitt and a son-in-law, Denis Gagne all whom she cherished deeply.
