OBITUARY: Eva Mary (Beshaw) Suggs

Eva M. Suggs, 88, a longtime resident of Brownway Residence facility in Enosburgh Falls, died late Wednesday afternoon, April 16, 2008, in Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans after a long and courageous battle with failing health.

 

Eva was born in Alburgh on June 17, 1919. She was a daughter of the late  Fred and Anna (LaPoint) Beshaw. Eva attended school in Alburg and married former Ward Washburn, who predeceased her. In 1970 she moved to North Carolina and married Frank Suggs, who predeceased. Eva was a home maker and for many years worked with her husband, Ward on a dairy farm in Alburgh.

 

Eva is survived by her sisters, Anna James of Colchester, Joyce and her husband Lyle Shepard, of Starksboro, Hazel Langlois of Branford, CT, Theresa Beshaw of Burlington, a sister-in-law, Irene Beshaw of Essex Junction a daughter-in-law, Aileen Washburn, a granddaughter, Michele and her husband, Shawn Willard both of Alburgh, two great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Eva was predeceased by her parents, a son, Lawrence, a daughter, Shirley,   brothers, Roy, Fred, Arthur and Charles Beshaw  and sisters, Elizabeth Rochon  and Dorothy Babin of Milton.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue Swanton.  Father Maurice U. Boucher, former pastor of Saint Amadeus Church in Alburg and Saint Joseph Mission in Isle La Motte will officiate. In keeping with Eva’s wishes there will be no calling hours and a private interment will take place at the convenience of the Beshaw family in  the Bush Cemetery in Alburgh.

 

Gifts in Eva’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
