DATELINE: Peggy
Vincelette, age 77 years, a native of Swanton, VT
and a resident of Chesterfield, NY since 1981 died early Monday morning
January 30, 2012, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY. Born
in Throughout
the years, in addition to her responsibilities as a wife and mother, Peggy
worked for Union Carbide and Fonda Container in Saint Albans, Swanton Courier
in Enosburgh Falls, The Press-Republican in
Plattsburgh, NY and for 27 years as office manager for McGrath Printing Company
in Plattsburgh, NY. She
was a lifelong parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed
Virgin Mary in Swanton and served for a time as church organist. She was a
member of the Civil Air Patrol Border Squadron based at the Peggy's
life was devoted to her family, especially her husband, children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with her
siblings. She enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and playing the lottery,
going for rides in the country as well as collecting tea pots and bells. She
was a perfectionist at sewing and knitting and made many of her children's
and grandchildren's clothes. Besides
her loving husband Norman, best friend and soul mate of 56 years of
Chesterfield, NY, she leaves three daughters and their husbands, Kathy Ann
& David Carswell Sr. of Spring, TX, Cindy Ann
& Robert Gates of Franklin, VT and Becky Ann Vincelette-Gates
of Plattsburgh, NY; nine grandchildren, David Hume Carswell
Jr. & Jill, Thomas Winslow Gates & Sarah, Rebecca Sawyer Carswell & Abraham, Bobbie Gates Billado
& Chris, Andrew Bazil Carswell
& Flora, Katie Vincelette Gates & Billy,
Sara Heather Sanders & Sam, Norman Pressman Gates & Marissa and Maggee Ann Gates; 10 great grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron,
Addison, Gabriel, Sawyer, Veronica, Victoria, Melea,
Scarlett and Shane; one brother, Thomas Sawyer Sr. and wife Sue; brother-in-law,
John Kelley; brother-in-law, Alan Vincelette and
his wife Arlene; nieces and nephews, Tom Sawyer Jr. & Ellen, BillieSue Sawyer & Lonnie, Fritz Hubacher,
Alana Lambert & Steve, Aaron Vincelette, Adam Vincelette & Karen and Andrew Vincelette
& Danielle; six great nieces and nephews, Mason, Serena, Kyle, Casey,
Noah & Zoe. Peggy
was predeceased by her sister Prudy Sawyer-Kelley;
a niece Annmary and a nephew, Keith. The
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 4, 2012, at
11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Friends
may call at The Kidder Memorial Home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Gifts
