Joan worked at Pearl’s beauty Shoppe before creating Joan Lussier’s Coiffeurs. She ran her own business, mentored beauticians and fostering friendships while offering commentary on life.

She raised her 2 sons while running her business teaching them the value of truth, hard work, and the value of family. Her children remember her as a loving mother who was resilient, driven and matured into an amazing Granny. Her humor and kindness touched everyone she met leaving a lasting impact inspiring her grandchildren to never give up and understand what being meant. She remains a role model for family unity, festive meals and holiday celebration.

Joan was an accomplished hair stylist with a talent of offering comfort and humor to customers which was a skill she shared with her twin brother who was also a barber. Joan loved her house, and spent time decorating it with flowers, milk glass collectables, dried flowers and thing that made people comfortable. This included the community who were blessed by her generousness. She offered food and laughter to Pastors of the Church of the Nativity whom she sometimes shared a meal at her home which she loved so much and the blessing of plenty comfort food. She loved her sons and was proud of their accomplishments, which was only surpassed by her care for being a part of her grandchildren’s lives. She was an active member of the Church of the Nativity and always felt a closeness to God and to Saint Joseph particularly.
